Canada reseller guide

A practical IPTV reseller plan for Canada

Treat the panel as one operating tool, not the whole business. A durable reseller operation also needs clear terms, customer records, consent controls, support boundaries and conservative credit planning.

GoldenOTT publishes three reseller packages: 10 credits for $160 USD, 50 for $700 USD and 100 for $1,300 USD. One credit is allocated to a 1-year account and two credits to a 2-year account. Confirm current terms and payment details before committing funds.

Start with operating assumptions, not a profit promise

Write down the customer type you can support, the account durations you expect to sell and the number of credits you can realistically allocate. Convert USD costs into your working currency using the rate and fees available to you; this page does not promise a CAD margin.

Build a Canadian compliance checklist

  • Commercial messages: Canadian guidance says commercial electronic messages generally require consent, sender identification and an unsubscribe mechanism.
  • Advertising: describe prices, availability and service terms accurately; do not use fake countdowns or unverifiable “best” claims.
  • Tax: the CRA explains when the $30,000 small-supplier threshold may trigger GST/HST registration. Get advice for your own structure and province.
  • Privacy: collect only the customer information needed for fulfilment and support, restrict access and define retention.
  • Service rights: confirm that the service and content you offer are authorized for the intended market. Do not infer rights from a working login.

This is an operational checklist, not legal or tax advice. Rules and your facts may change.

A simple first-customer workflow

  1. Confirm the customer’s device and supported connection method.
  2. Explain the plan term, total price, support scope and refund terms in writing.
  3. Verify payment manually before allocation.
  4. Record the account reference and verified expiry date without putting credentials in analytics or public messages.
  5. Schedule a renewal check and keep marketing consent separate from required service communication.

Choose a credit pack conservatively

The 10-credit package is the smallest approved GoldenOTT entry point. Compare the cost per allocated credit, unused inventory and support capacity before moving to 50 or 100 credits. Use the reseller margin calculator with your own prices.
