Retention operations

A simple renewal system for IPTV resellers

Renewals become manageable when the account status is checked before each reminder, payment remains a separate verified event and completed renewals cancel old follow-ups.

A useful schedule is seven days before expiry, two days before expiry and on the expiry date. The schedule is a checkpoint, not permission to send repeated promotional messages.

T-7: verify before reminding

Confirm the linked username, current supplier status and verified expiry. Check whether a renewal has already been recorded. If the facts are uncertain, create an internal review task instead of sending a confident message.

T-2: remove ambiguity

State the account reference, expiry date and available renewal path. Keep service communication separate from marketing and respect the customer’s channel consent.

T0: close or escalate

Recheck status. If the customer renewed, link the verified supplier result, record the payment and cancel the old reminder cycle. If not, mark the account expired and create one clear next action rather than an endless reminder loop.

Prevent duplicate reminders

  • Give every reminder event a stable idempotency key.
  • Do not recreate completed jobs after a worker restart.
  • Cancel scheduled reminders immediately after a verified renewal.
  • When a channel is unavailable, create an owner task instead of silently dropping the follow-up.
  • Do not treat a payment redirect, screenshot or promise as verified funds.

Plan inventory around renewals

Separate credits reserved for known renewals from credits intended for new customers. Reorder based on verified demand, not an optimistic pipeline. Review the credit allocation guide and margin calculator.
